the main theme for september: stress. and in case you're wondering why my blog output has suddenly decreased these past few weeks, it's because of that very reason: stress.
*******
2010.09.01 a lonely street, a quiet evening. i'd taken a picture of this street before, but i was still struck by the loneliness of that street on that evening. so there it is.
2010.09.02 unreachable
2010.09.03 at the office, under my desk
2010.09.04 the city of dust
2010.09.05 at the fringes of development
2010.09.06 the comfort of finding traces of the existence of others: to know that you are not alone
2010.09.07 how sweet the sleep of the weary, part 1
2010.09.08 going home, after another stress filled day.
2010.09.09 missing in action
2010.09.10 that there is light at the other end is reason enough to keep us moving
2010.09.11 a sleeping child. and i do not mean that michael learns to rock song. michael never really learned to rock. end of discussion.
2010.09.12 outside, looking in
2010.09.13 mga nangapyot sa jeepney, part 1
2010.09.14 harassed
2010.09.15 overdrive
2010.09.16 superstition
2010.09.17 monitoring stress levels at 10:23pm
2010.09.18 stranded by a sudden downpour
2010.09.19 let your light shine
2010.09.20 lines and shadows
2010.09.21 mga nangapyot sa jeepney, part 2
2010.09.22 how sweet the sleep of the weary, part 2
2010.09.23 at a birthday party: the last morsel
2010.09.24 and the birthday party continues into the wee hours of the morning...
2010.09.25 as the blind man played silent night on his bamboo xylophone, it made me wonder: a literal silent night must be madenning for a blind man, a man who has already been robbed of his sight, a man who is eternally at night. and the silence then robs him of another dimension of the world: sound. it only makes sense then, that the blind find refuge in music.
2010.09.26 you'd be surprised to learn that there are people sitting in hidden corners of the world, people that you never knew were there as you passed blissfully by, people that, as far as you're concerned, don't really exist. but they are there. you don't see them. but they see you.
2010.09.27 this particular line, from chapter 10 of the life of pi, i found quite striking: "Yet there will always be animals that seek to escape from zoos."
2010.09.28 how sweet the sleep of the weary, part 3
2010.09.29 the weather report, in more ways than one. the view from our office pantry.
2010.09.30 creatures on an officemate's desk: spongebob and patrick reading the back of a lotion bottle

the rules of physics in a jeepney
waiting at a jeepney stop one evening were two ladies and me. an almost full 13C jeepney going to talamban then arrives. the conductor announces to us:
"o duha nalang kulang, duha kulang..."
i let the two ladies get on the jeepney first. the conductor then notices me, and says:
"o naa pay isa! naa pay isa!"
right. apparently, the pauli exclusion principle (which states that no two objects can occupy the same space at the same time) does not apply on that jeepney.

don't worry
"Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindsides you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday."
